Guiding you from where you are…
to where you want to be.
For over two decades, I’ve navigated the moments when calm seas turn into rough waters in an instant. The events of 9/11, occurring during my time at Fuller Theological Seminary (M.Div), were pivotal moments, shifting my life’s direction and purpose.
The attacks on our country sparked a deep interest in resilience and how do we rebuild and heal at both the communal and individual levels. My journey led me to the emerging field of moral injury, a concept that explores the deep wounds inflicted when our core values and beliefs are challenged or broken. It became clear to me that we all face moments that test our core, yet it’s in the rebuilding where true strength lies. My life’s mission became to guide others through the journey from disarray back to stability and then on to renewal and restoration. I now call this process “restorative change.”
Driven by a passion for aiding in the recovery and resilience of others, I ventured into the business world to understand how organizations navigate through unexpected challenges. My experiences with consulting firms specializing in leadership and strategy development provided me with a front-row seat to the transformational power of cultivating strong cultures, nurturing leadership, and scaling businesses amidst ever-changing economic landscapes. I also pursued additional graduate work at Pepperdine University’s School of Law, specializing in mediation and dispute resolution to strengthen organizations’ ability to transform conflict and pain into peace-making initiatives.
As the war on terror lengthened, I felt a calling to apply my expertise and leadership skills to support our warfighters. I was commissioned as a Naval officer, serving Marines and Sailors overseas and in the esteemed “Blue Diamond” I Marine Division, focusing on combat stress, ethical leadership, and moral injury. I provided thousands of hours of non-clinical counseling to brave individuals who were navigating their life’s greatest crucibles, listening and learning what was or what was not helping them recover. Exemplary leaders in high-stakes environments inspired me with their dedication as I worked alongside them. I learned the critical importance of meticulous planning, disciplined execution, and the unwavering commitment to leave no one behind. Yet, it was in the shared moments of pain I also learned the profoundness of grief and the importance of being present and providing direction and hope during pivotal moments of loss.
Now, two decades later, my commitment to building resilience and creating renewal drives me to support those looking to enhance their lives, both personally and professionally.
Having faced my own trials, including the challenges of being a divorced father of three, losing my mother early to breast cancer, or helping others through their losses, I understand the journey of suffering, recovery, and the relentless pursuit of showing up for those who count on us.
My story is one of continuous learning, adaptation, and an unwavering commitment to serving others—values that I bring to every endeavor. I’ll stand in any storm, offering all of my expertise and experience with any person seeking to navigate their own challenges, ensuring they emerge stronger, more resilient, and equipped to thrive in every area of their lives.
Dig deep…keep going.
